MECHANICAL ENGINEER (Tire Engineer)

This role is highly trainable and does not require a traditional Mechanical Engineering background. We’re looking for someone with solid technical aptitude who can follow established processes and procedures.

Job Description

The  Tire Engineer  is responsible for tire engineering construction, processing, cost, and quality levels of tires released to production by the Research and Development Group. This role uses independent judgment and discretion in daily decision?making and supports continuous improvement in tire performance and manufacturing quality.

Essential Functions

1. Perform cured tire analysis to evaluate construction, performance, and quality.
2. Supervise test tire procurement, coordinating with production and R&D.
3. Follow up on defect control and corrective actions to support continuous improvement.
4. Issue quality instructions and ensure proper communication to production teams.
5. Audit all phases of factory processing to verify compliance with tire specifications and standards.
6. Conduct training programs for employees related to tire construction, quality, and processing.
7. Maintain tire specifications, ensuring accuracy and timely updates.
8. Perform other duties as assigned in support of tire engineering and production quality.

Required Education and Experience / Skills

1. Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent technical experience accepted.
2. Minimum 2 years of experience in tire manufacturing preferred.
3. Good verbal and written communication skills.
4. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel for data analysis, reporting, and documentation.
5. AS400 experience a plus.
