The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for supporting production operations, improving manufacturing processes, and ensuring product quality in our cold heading department. This role will collaborate closely with production, quality, and maintenance teams to drive continuous improvement, troubleshoot production challenges, and support customer inquiries on new products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, evaluate, and improve cold heading and forming processes for production efficiency and quality.
- Troubleshoot process and tooling issues on the production floor.
- Design and specify tooling and equipment for new and existing parts.
- Work with Quality and Production teams to reduce scrap and downtime.
- Analyze production data and recommend improvements.
- Assist with machine setup procedures and process documentation.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and ISO 9001:2015 standards.
- Support new product development and process validation.
- Collaborate with customers and vendors on technical requirements and improvements.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 2–5 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment (cold heading or metal forming strongly preferred).
- Familiarity with cold heading machines (e.g., National, Waterbury, or Sacma) and tooling.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks or similar).
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing, SPC, and root cause analysis.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in fastener manufacturing.
- Knowledge of heat treating, plating, and secondary operations.
- Experience working in an ISO-certified environment.
