Job Description

          Educational Programs Coordinator

We have an exciting Furst-to-Hire opportunity for an Educational Programs Coordinator working at a national community service organization.  This position is responsible for program coordination, data management, community outreach, partnership development and reporting activities that support program success.  The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about education and community engagement.  This role works closely with program staff, participants and community partners.    

Hours: 7:30am to 4pm M-F
Pay: $26.50/hour

Educational Programs Coordinator Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the maintenance of all records, statistics and reports as required by regulatory agencies
  • Assist with program planning, coordination, implementation, and reporting activities
  • Maintain wide variety of public and private contacts to develop and maintain programs and public image, and develop community collaboration, including outreach to appropriate communities
  • Coordinate and participate in outreach events, informational meetings, job fairs and community networking opportunities
  • Promote program services through presentations, outreach activities and community engagement efforts
  • Support Tech Lab reporting, data collection, participant recruitment and internship/ employment partnerships
  • Provide backup support to the Case Manager
  • Assist the Literacy Programs Supervisor with class registration, data entry and reporting
  • Keep inventory of office and program supplies
  • Stay updated on changes in community services, local, state and federal policy changes
  • Attend staff meetings, trainings and community events as required

Educational Programs Coordinator Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Services, Education, or a related field preferred; equivalent education and experience may be considered
  • Minimum of two years of related experience in program coordination, education, workforce development, human services or nonprofit programs
  • Strong organizational, analytical and time management skills
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to build and maintain effective community partnerships
  • Experience with program reporting, data management and grant compliance
  • Ability to manage program expenses and multiple priorities
  • Moderate computer proficiency
  • Ability to work independently  and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to lift 30 pounds, sit, stand, bend and perform routine office activities
  • Valid Illinois driver’s license and current automobile insurance
