Temporary Hiring and Onboarding Coordinator
Our long-established client located in DeKalb, IL is in need of a Recruitment Support person. In this role you will support the company’s commercial initiatives by screening and qualifying applicants for opportunities within the company. This position is expected to last at least 3 months, possibly longer.
Hours:
8am to 5pm
Pay:$18-$22/hour
Hiring and Onboarding Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Create and post job advertisements on various job boards and recruiting platforms
- Review applications and coordinate candidate screening activities
- Schedule interviews between candidates and hiring managers
- Communicate with applicants regarding application status and next steps
- Maintain applicant tracking systems and recruitment records
- Assist with job fairs, hiring events, and recruitment initiatives
- Prepare offer letters and onboarding documentation
- Coordinate background checks, drug screenings, and employment verification
- Ensure completion of all required new-hire paperwork and compliance documents
- Schedule and facilitate new employee orientation sessions
- Coordinate with payroll, IT, safety, and department managers to ensure employees are ready to begin work
- Maintain employee personnel files and onboarding records
- Verify employment eligibility documentation and maintain I-9 records
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company hiring requirements
- Track onboarding metrics and recruitment activity
- Assist with HR projects, employee engagement activities, and administrative tasks as assigned
Hiring and Onboarding Coordinator Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate's or bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in recruiting, onboarding, human resources, or administrative support
- Knowledge of employment laws, hiring practices, and onboarding procedures preferred
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS software is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Word, and Excel
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication abilities
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Customer-service mindset with a focus on creating a positive employee experience
